Placing your order

Browse through our Product List and place the items that you wish to purchase into the shopping cart by clicking on the Buy Now button beside the product. When you are ready, go to the shopping cart to confirm the contents and then proceed to the checkout.

In the checkout process you will be able to specify delivery & billing addresses, select payment method and provide any notes that you think are necessary (e.g. questions about the product, delivery instructions or anything else that comes to mind!). At present, freight charges calculated for your order are a reasonable estimate only.

As soon as you finish completing the order, you will be sent an email to confirm the order number and the details of the order. During the next business day, we will review your order by checking for stock availability, processing payment and confirming delivery options and charges. We will email you if there are any issues with product availability, delivery time and cost.

We will email you again when your order is ready to be picked up or is on it’s way to you.

No orders processed during Christmas school holidays

We close for four weeks from just before Christmas and reopen in the third week of January. We are now open during the term break holidays.

Pricing

Our prices are in NZ dollars and include GST. We aim to provide the products at very competitive prices. Prices are kept up-to-date in the online Product List but may be subject to change as a result of price increases from our suppliers and other causes.

Quotes

You can use the shopping cart to generate a Quote… Simply continue to the checkout and select the Quotation Only payment option. We will not fill quotation orders until you advise us to. Please note that Quotes are only valid for 30 days.

Payment

Purchases may be paid for by Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard or cheque. Orders that are picked up at our Christchurch store may also be paid for by EFTPOS or in cash. Customers may also apply for a Charge Account by completing a Credit Application form (download here) and posting that into us.

When a credit card is used, the value of the order is immediately reserved on your credit card account. Once we have filled the order, we will finalise the charge on your credit card account. We do not store your credit card number at any stage, but use a secure processing facility called WIPS Plus using Direct Payment Solutions service to manage online credit card payments safely as advised by our bank.

Delivery

Orders can be picked up from the shop or can be delivered to you (delivery charges apply).

We normally use Fastway for courier of items that can be packed into standard sized boxes. They offer different flat rates for various parts of the country.

For large items (e.g. a carpentry bench) a freight haulage company will need to be used. We have found that customers usually prefer to organise freight haulage themselves as they are aware of who their local freight companies are and can often obtain better pricing than that quoted by a Christchurch-based company. Also, customers usually like to be involved in the scheduling of the actual delivery and organising of insurance cover. However, we are happy to obtain freight prices for you if you prefer us to handle the delivery for you.

Order Fulfilment

We expect that your order will normally be available for pickup or sent out to you within 2-5 days. However, if items need to be ordered in or manufactured, the order may take up to 15 days to be prepared. We will endeavour to keep you informed about the expected availability date.

Out of Stock

While we make every effort to hold sufficient stock of all our products, occasionally we may sell out or be waiting for a shipment ourselves. If we are ever out of stock of a product that you have ordered, we will advise you by email within two business days to let you know when it will be available. You may then choose to wait, select an alternative product or cancel your order.

Please be aware that most of our larger items (e.g. carpentry benches) are only manufactured when we place the order with the supplier.
