Matariki
Matariki is the Māori name for a cluster of stars that appear above Aotearoa New Zealand in late June or early July. It is often referred to as Māori New Year as it is a time for renewal. Traditionally, this is a time for remembrance, to celebrate the present and to plan for the future.
The Playcentre Shop has many activities to enable children (and adults) to lean about and enjoy the many facets of Matariki. From games to crafts, books and magnetic stories, there are fun ways to learn and bring the celebration to your home or classroom.
