Yellow Eyed Penguin (Hoiho) bird with sound - Antics

Hoiho, or the Yellow Eyed Penguin are native to New Zealand and can be found on the sourtheast coast of the South Island as well as Stewart, Auckland and Campbell Islands. They are a  Large penguin growing to 79cm tall and weighing up to 18kgs and can live up to 20years. They have yellow eyes and a distinctive band of pale yellow feathers running from their eyes around the back of the head. Hoiho forage for bottom-dwelling fish and crustaceans in areas from 2 to 25kms offshore, diving to 120m below the surface.
